This new program is provided through the generous support of the Potomac Health Foundation.
Anger and stress are a normal part of life, but according to recent research, 1 in 3 individuals are overwhelmed by uncontrolled anger and/or high levels of stress either themselves or from a close family member. Unmanaged anger and stress poses serious health problems (such as high blood pressure, heart disease, stroke, diabetes, anxiety/depression) and prevents the healthy physical and emotional development of children.
Don't let anger and stress destroy your happiness. Change in Action is offering the Behavioral Management for Anger and Stress program for the whole family. In a small group format, adults, teens (12-18) and youth (5-11) learn about their personal anger cues/triggers, develop the skills and strategies to express their feelings in health ways, and practice problem solving. The program is proven effective for individuals directly experiencing the high levels of anger/stress, family members exposed to anger/stress, as well as those who internalize their stress and anger.
The whole family can participate for the eight weekly sessions for only $150, which can be paid while attending the program. This program is approved for FAPT funding. Currently this program is provided on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 pm in either English or Spanish.
