Adolescence is a time of many changes: physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially. At times
these changes can become overwhelming and cause additional challenges. Extreme frustration,
depression, anxiety, isolation, high-risk behaviors, angry outbursts and self injurious behaviors are
serious issues that need assistance to be resolved in healthy ways. The Real Talk, Real Teens, Real Life
program teach critical life and social skills that lower the risk for substance abuse, gang involvement,
child/abuse neglect, involvement with the juvenile justice system, truancy, suicide and sexual violence.
Real Talk, Real Teens, Real Life program meets once a week for eight weeks. Each session is two hours long. The current group series is offered on Thursdays from 6:00-8:00 pm. Adolescents learn hands on skills related to the following topics:
