The Behavioral Management for Traumatic Exposure seeks the long term change in the lives of our clients to promote health and wellness and decrease the likelihood of chronic health conditions associated with exposure to trauma. This program is a ten week series of educational group style sessions for adults, adolescents and youth that have either been traumatically exposed or a loved one has been traumatically exposed. The program is presented by a registered nurse and is offered either in English or Spanish. A preliminary assessment is conducted prior to the program so as to determine current health levels and identify needed resources to enhance wellbeing.
Topics may include:
High blood pressure
Child abuse prevention
The program also includes free of charge Neurofeedback Therapy to help the brain retrain to healthier functioning after exposure to trauma and case management to connect to affordable preventative care services in the community.
The cost of the program for the whole family $60. For those with family members participating in the Alternatives To Violence program, this fee has already been paid for as part of that cost. To register for this program call 571-379-0352.
This program is being sponsored by the Potomac Health Foundation
